SURVEY QUESTIONS - GRP 1

For those that remember, the Company is not under any obligation to open for negotiations, and certainly doesn't want to open up the entire CBA until the amendable date. That is still 2.5 years away, but they do want us to sign off on the Tentative Agreement (TA) for the pay raises, bonuses and benefit package.  

TAPA hasn't signed off on the TA specifically because we want to meet and discuss some of these improvements we've been reviewing. Unfortunately, the Company refuses to negotiate with anyone.  Now with a change in Company management and our current TAPA leadership, we believe they are open to informal negotiations which would lead to interim Letters of Agreement (LOAs), before the CBA comes under review.

  1. We will  receive our bonuses in May 2023, but going forward would you rather wait to get the next bonuses in May 2024 and May 2025, or would you rather we ask that they just incorporate that money into pay raises for all?
  2. Should we ask for a raise in the monthly guarantee?  From say 65 hours to 75 hours?
  3. Should we ask for trip protection?  If they take your trip for OE or other reasons, should you be pay protected? Put on reserve?
  4. In general, are our payrates competitive compared to other cargo carriers?  Should we ask for higher payrates?
  5. We all know about the disparity in the raises we received last May.....35% for captains and only 20% for first officers......was that fair?  Is there a way to remedy this?  Retroactively?
  6. What improvements do you want to see in the 401K program?  Higher matching from the company?
  7. What improvements in the medical programs do you want to see?  Do we have loss of license insurance?  Is it any good?
  8. Should we ask the company to establish a no-fly list for pilots to request not to fly with certain other pilots?  This would be without retribution and anonymous as well, just between the requesting pilot and the company.
  9. How should pilots be called out on reserve?  By seniority, low to high?  Or by first in, first out, last in, last out with scheduling? Should R-4 reserve at home be compensated?
